The "New Market Cafe" is next door to the market cafe, which has a very closed look about it. The New Market Cafe, is a great little cheap place to eat at the Barras. We had a vegetable panini, that comes with chips and salad, a bacon roll, plus two coffees. Which came to £7.50. What a bargain. The panini was very good, as were the chips, and the bacon roll. Coffee is not really my thing, but it tasted fine to me, and my partner who is a bit more into it, proclaimed it better than OK. We sampled the biscuits, empire, choc chip shortbread, but kind of wished we hadn't bothered. This must be one of the cheapest places to get a feed in Glasgow, that also serves decent food. I don't think there are many places where two people can get a feed and a drink for under £10. If I was in the area, feeling in need of a bit of sustenance, then it would be my first choice.

Popped in early on a Saturday morning before the markets traders were set up. The staff were nice, prompt and the food was spot on. Great value for money for the regular breakfast and a cappuccino at £7.50, filled me up. Literally couldn't complain about a thing. Thanks guys

Fantastic wee cafe in the barras. They do the best baked potatoes and they’re not stingy on their fillings! Also have a chicken salad from here when the weather is nicer and it’s just delicious and so fresh. Great wee spot!

Had breakfast in here, good quality of food apart from the beans . The cappuccino was the best I've had in a greasy spoon . Up the game with the beans and it would definitely be 5 stars all the way.
